The Technical School of Vilanova I la Geltrú is part of the Barcelona Tech University. The Barcelona Tech University develops engineering and architecture curriculum. The Technical School of Vilanova i la Geltrú is a modern institution with a hundred years of history, whose main purpose is the development of trained engineers to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment, contributing to the promotion of entrepreneurship, research and technology transfer. Our vision: we aim to become one of Europe leaders to study engineering and design.
The Technical School of Vilanova i la Geltrú develop two international programs: the European Project Semester (EPS) and the International Design Project Semester. The EPS is a one-semester course designed to train final-year engineering students to work in international teams. In an EPS, an international team of students works on a real-life project that has been proposed by a company. The IDPS is similar to the EPS for industrial design students. The IDPS program has two complementary parts: - A project (18 ECTS): during the guidance of an academic tutor, an international team of four to six students works on a real-life project. - Courses (12 ECTS): four core courses are offered during the semester (Eco Design Strategies, Sustainable Design, Human Centred Design and Business Practicum
The Technical School of Vilanova i la Geltrú collaborates with other Spanish Universities in teaching and research domain: In example the Barcelona University, the Universitat Autónoma of Barcelona (UAB), The University of Lleida (UdL) and other technical Schools of the Barcelona Tech University.
