IO1. Enquiry Framework to gauge the requirements of bodies active in VET provisions that may be available in the HE Sector. BUCKS university will lead the activities for this first IO that will serve as support for following activities. All the partners must be involved in this activity.

IO2. An enquiry and analysis of (a) what Higher Education and research institutions active in aesthetic design and the visual arts feel they have to offer the furniture industry and industrial training bodies, and (b) what the furniture industry and industrial training bodies feel they are missing with regard to enhancing the quality of aesthetic design and the visual arts in their training and production programmes.  Searchlighter will coordinate the activities of this IO. Will be supported by the rest of the partners. CETEM will perform these activities through furniture designers and manufacturers.  Also experts in regulation will contribute discussing the main topics that new designer must learn. BUCKS  will reach its students in order to find how their skills can be improved for aesthetic furniture design. Experts committees will be organized to define the best tools and methods for enhancing artistic skills of industrial designers.

IO3. A cloud-based repository template designed to contain (a) content that is held by Higher Education and research institutions active in aesthetic design and the visual arts and could be used according to the conclusions of the analysis, and (b) a content database of Higher Education and research institutions active in aesthetic design and the visual arts that presents information about what they can provide the furniture industry and industrial training bodies according to the analysis. CETEM will lead this IO.  All partners will collaborate for inputs in the commented cloud-based repository regarding arts and furniture. The platform will be a template for future content regarding the application of visual arts to different traditional sectors. All the contents placed in this MOOC platform will be registered under open licenses.

IO4. Cloud based networking tool for connecting HEI and VET providers of product design and fine and applied arts and the industry. This output will facilitate the contact and networking between the training providers and the industrial companies. It will allow to the industrial partners to find an appropriate training  for their employees and VET  providers to offer their expertise to industry in order to qualify them for finest and innovative designs.

IO5. Piloting. Appraise its value in detail through a combined assessment including a partial implementation with design students and workshops including all elements of the furniture industry, including retailers and consumers as well as manufacturers and trainers

IO6. Apply a furniture design VET course curriculum that is already in place and focuses on practical design, extending it as a curriculum to include aesthetic design with due reference to the visual arts as being an equal element of the design element to the practical and functional. This should be gained by applying the repository content on IO4, and with direct input from Higher Education and research institutions active in aesthetic design and the visual arts that are registered in the database. The new course will be designed taking into account 2 tanning paths one for industrial furniture designer and other for students of fine and applied arts. In the last stage of the  project AKTO will lead the amend of the course according to the results of the assessment and any further application of the database and repository. The new curriculum will be composed by Learning outcomes that will be clustered in a Unit (Competence in aesthetic design in furniture manufacturing).
