Bucks

Bucks (www.bucks.ac.uk) was founded in 1891 as the High Wycombe School of Science and Art.  It is a leading modern university in the UK, driving professional and creative excellence characterised by a commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience. Bucks have invested heavily in a renovated and expanded High Wycombe campus with a new site in Uxbridge (London) established for nursing provision.  The state of the art Gateway building won a RIBA architecture award in 2010.  The University has over 9000 students and 900 staff and provides courses with a strong employment focus that have been developed with direct engagement with employers and accredited bodies.  Bucks is structured into two faculties: the Faculty of Design, Media and Management and the Faculty of Society and Health.

The school of Arts and Creative Industries is where the Department of Art and Design is located which has many practice based UG courses, such as; Advertising Creative, Fine Arts, Design and Crafts, Fashion, Furniture, Graphics, Product design and Textiles.

Current students have won prizes and exhibited at numerous exhibitions and fairs such as New Designers London, Cologne furniture fair and Indigo Paris, whilst staff run practices in London and exhibit at London Design week.

Bucks alumni have been successful with international campaigns, designs and products. Alumni hold positions in world leading companies such as Google, the Victoria & Albert Museum and Sennheiser (amongst many others).
